Is there an easy way to temporarily disable the light in the trunk? I'm going to be working on a friends car Sunday and I plan to use my toolbox out of my trunk, so the trunk will be open for at least a few hours. I don't want to kill my battery from the light.

..and if not, how long would it take for that bulb to drain the battery?

Thanks.

isn't the trunk light on the 10 minute battery saver like the interior light?

I know mine is . I never measured the actual time but I know for fact that it will shut itself of after x number of minutes. Same thing for the dome light if you leave the door open.
Note: putting the dome light switch in the manual "on" position will override the shut-off timer. So don't do it if you are the forgetful type.

thats what I thought. I just left my door open last night while talking to a friend and was reminded of the battery saver feature by the fact that the light was off.

If the 3rd gen sedan trunk light is the same as the wagon, then you can go to the junk yard and buy a 2nd gen trunk light assembly with the built in switch and it's plug and play.
