Is there such a thing as a replacement trunk floor? Mine is severely rotted out. The factory jack seems like it could fall through the floor any day.

You could have some sheet metal cut by a shop. All they need is a pattern with measurements.

Check at the dealership... they may have serviced trunk area sheet metal back when the cars were fairly new, for rust belt areas.

Ya may want to check the strut towers as well.... I mean if the trunk is really that bad, I'm sure the towers aren't much better.

And please let us know what you find. With so many Escorts having been made there must be a smashed one that has the sections you need in decent shape - somewhere.

Too bad its so hard to have a parts car (or parts cars) sitting in the backyard. Where I live in N. VA, you cant have an unlicensed car on your property, without it being inside a building, or out of sight from any adjoining property.

And I thought I had it bad because I can only have one dead car in the yard, and I am in a big city.
