This started about a month ago. The car runs and drives fine but when ever i need to stop quickly or brake harder than usual the transmission will slip out of gear and stay in neutral as I stop. The car will stay in neutral until I rev the engine up then it will grab and come back into gear. If I was a betting man I'd say the clutches are worn out in the tranny but I want to see what you guys think. The car doesn't give me any problems while accelerating but I have to admit that I don't drive the car hard at all and I usually drive slow to get better gas mileage. No CEL codes have been thrown except for the 1744 code, which although its for the torque converter, has been on and off for a long time and probably has nothing to do with this after what I've read about it. Any thoughts?
