naw, the lx trany will not fit in the GT CAUSE THE gt is a Mazda engine, not a ford engine
Tranny Question
hey everybody!! ive got a question about transmissions, take it easy though this is kind of new to me. :-D
I found an escort last night, its a four door and looks like an LX but there aren´t any emblems. got my lady to check it out for me on her lunch break and good news!! it happens to be a 5-speed manual, motors shot but the tranny is good. its a 1.9 and i have a 1.8 in my GT. will it fit or does the motor size have to be the same???(like i said this is kind of new to me)
hell if not i may have a good parts car considering he only wants $300 bones for this baby. nice straight body, no rust spots, great looking interior, new tires, and the dealer just wants it off his lot. i figure i can get it for $200 or lower if he really wants it gone. :-] :-]

i know this question has been asked many many times.... i dont know the answer however but some people says it fits while others say it doesnt. nice find on the scort!
