Now that you mention it, it does make sense since the Kia built Festiva/Fiesta/etc. all use Mazda engines.. but still.. WTF?Beaverboy said:

So I live in Poland and it`s hard to get this tranny. I found few of them but they costed 400 $! Jesus!!!!! So, at local junk yard I checked which tranny will be similar to mine. Kia Sephias was almost the same but the case was different(place for starter was bigger). So we took all the stuff from Kia and put back to my original.Everything went smooth.
Now my car is accelerating faster and the maximum speed is lower, becouse of different ratio on the big wheel(Kia has bigger and original has smaller wheel) and btw we changed clutch.
Everything cost me: new gearbox 185 $
new clutch plate 16 $
We did it by ourselves - me and my dad.

.. forged internals? I have a friend trying to sell a '95 1.8 DOHC Kia Sephia dirt cheap.. I mean, it weighs the same as an EGT, is it actually just as quick?
i've been on the board for a year now and i have to say....this is the FIRST time anyone has said anything about a Kia having the BP motor...i'm shocked....wish i woulda known sooner....might have given me less trouble when i was in need of a new BP motor....too late now...but atleast i learned something today.
