I left my brothers house tonight and decided I didn´t want to go home, yet. As I was driving down I-469 I decided not to get off at my normal exit and continue down to US 27, I decided to go explore through Decatur, IN. When I got there I noticed a cop had someone pulled over on some side street and really didn´t want to stay in that town. So I continued south on 27 and had passed through two more small towns, which I don´t know the names of, that´s about the time I decided I´d had enough of US27 and turned west on Indiana Rt. 18. I didn´t know it at that moment but it was the route that takes you straight into downtown Marion, In. About ten miles down the road, however, I did realize where it went and I had my bearings back and I knew exactly where I was going.
I had previously thought of heading to Indianapolis.. but by this time I had already driven 75 miles. About the time I made it to I-69 just before Marion, I decided to turn back north and head home. I set my cruise at 73 mph and put on some Korn (Follow the Leader). When I got up by Manchester, I noticed an early 90s Cavalier come on to the onramp, didn´t think anything of it...until I got up next to him. Just as I was getting around him, I hear him drop a gear and punch it. I continued on my way to let him think nothing of me, but, when I heard his engine drop off, I tapped the brakes, dropped to 4th and punched it. By the time I had steadied out at 110 mph he was a car length or so behind me. I couldn´t really tell, I was busy keeping my car straight. Now, I know this was stupid but I had been obeying traffic laws all night within any of those city limits I reached, dropped to 35 and in some cases 25 mph. So anyway, here I am doing 110 mph with a Cavalier behind me trying to keep up. I just smiled and then I noticed we were running up on this van so I kept it up. To me, it´s a kill for me if he has to slow down and swerve into my lane. Which is exactly what he did, I didn´t let him in front of me. Just after he got around the van he headed for an offramp, so I braked and swerved in behind him to see where he was going. He turned into some parking lot. I kept going, turned around about a 1/4 mi down the road and came back just as he was coming back to his car from some hotel, I U-turned and hot-tailled it out of the parking lot, and he followed me, until I got back up on the highway... so I said oh well, I got one more kill, time to go back to relaxing. I was happy with my new kill, so I lit up a victory cigar. It was so good. I set the cruise back to 73 and continued on my way. I get back up into Ft Wayne and got off at the US 30 West exit to go down Coliseum Blvd. I got behind this jeep with a Calvin sticker in which he´s holding his balls and flipping you off. I thought that was amusing. A little bit later, as I´m still driving down Coliseum I noticed this old Dodge or Ford pickup truck with dual exhaust REALLY REALLY pushing his engine, I´m sittin there in 4th gear at 3000 rpms, and I´m gaining on him. Pathetic huh? At this time I just wanted to come back and get online. I continued my way through the city and came back to fill up my car. I used 10.517 gallons of gas in 205.2 miles...if you calculate that you get 19.511267 miles per gallon. That´s about 4 more MPG than I´ve usually been getting.
Part of the reason I did this was I kept hearing from a coworker that I should get out and explore, so I did. Another part was that I wanted to be by myself, with no one bitching at me.
My trip odometer read 51 miles when I started and read 205.2 when I ended and now I´m at 89,420 miles...all this in about 2 and a half hours. That´s all I can drive in one night. Thanks for letting me tell you about it ;-)

Man I could go for one of those right now (A road trip, not a cigar). Unfortuatly I´m unemployed once again and the needle on my gas gauge is below "E". Sounds like your trip was more exciting that relaxing. You know whats strange, I have never once, ever raced anyone. Sure I´ve gone fast, but never raced anyone. In fact, the fastest I´ve ever gone was 95 in my 87 escort gt. Kinda hard to believe since I am 19, but its true. My 91 scort has only gone about 85 and I´ve had it since last June. I guess thats also part of the reason why I haven´t gotton a ticket yet (*knocks on wood). Well congratulations on your kill, maybe someday I will have one of my own.

James... I know exactly what you mean... Every time I get stressed or just wanna unwind by myself, I just bucle up and drive... sometimes just to realx and think and sometimes to pass the time and race... There is nothind like taking off on that cavalier or civic that just cant keep up, or going 115mph on the expressway... Not to mention the smoking part... I´m telling yah.. If it werent for the damn cops fulling me over on an average of five times a month it would be soo perfect..

Wish I could go for another one, but I´d rather not use up all my gas..that trip used up a half a tank, but since I was getting better mileage than I expected, it didn´t use it up quite as fast. It was actually a lot more relaxing than I thought it´d be, cause I had a headache all day yesterday and it continued through that drive until I came home and ate something. when i look at a map now it doesn´t seem like it should have taken me 2.5 hours to drive that short of a distance...

5 times a month? now I´m confused. I actually have a sticker that says "INFOP Supporter" INFOP=Indiana Fraternal Order of Police. I send them money every year. I got a sticker for 01 and 02 on the left bottom side of my hatch window. I´ve gotten three tickets, all within 5 months of each other (one in September, then October and then another one in January), but that was back in 2000 and 2001. I haven´t had a ticket since and I´m lucky that I haven´t. ;-)

Yeah, Up here in "Preskit" my car club likes to "run the Spars." AZ Hwy89 South runs down the side of the mountains and makes an elevation drop of about 4000 feet in a period of 16 miles or so. Alot of the guys in my club hold the time records for running down the hwy. The 3000GT -VR4 runs the whole trip in just under 13mins. He holds the turns at about 65-70mph (I think that´s like 110km/h for the Canadians on the board)

we usually do this run and take it down to the middle of the AZ desert, then back up to Prescott.

Road trip? Road trip? OH yeah! A road trip. :-D Haven´t had one of those since last May. I´m going to take one hopefully at the end of Feb. for a dB Drag then on the first weekend of June at Thunder on the Water in Grenada, MS. Pack my Scort (what little I can fit with my subs ;-) ) , grab my girl and take the weekend off for that Grenada trip. I went last year and we had a blast. Got to do whatever the hell we wanted... :-] . Blade: I´m going to have to travel to your hometown one day and check it out. I better there is some great photo ops. there. The last time I was in Arizona I was about six years old. :-D

Well i dont have a "F%#K the police sticker (wish i did) but.... I do have an eight inch piss on VTEC sticker on my back winshield ....which along with the rest of the glass is 15% darker than the leagal limit...

Piss on VTEC old pic so no tints and about 10 neons less... dont worry i took those off there and "hid them" so it actualy looks good... like this... Interior this also an old pic... back to what i was saying....

Not to mention the fact that my car has more blue lights than the City of Miami Police department´s motorpool...(I don´t drive whith them on though, but some how they know they are there)... Ohh and the two stickers on the side of my car that read 305sr.com (Miami Street Racing) seem to get spotted easily... Now as for opening my eyes for cops.... I don´t know about cops out side of Miami but here, they hide their squad cars and bikes where on comming traffic cant see them... Ohh and the really tricky bastards... have unmarked cars... ;-)

hehe I´m just giving you a hard time. I´d imagine the street racing stickers would get you pulled over.

they hide here too and have some unmarked cars but its still pretty easy to spot them.
