I prefer the blue tokes, the black ones are usually dusted...lol

but really, what the hell is a toke on the suspension. I think you're confused.

As for the ZX2 or EGT springs, the ZX2s may show a lower front, but the bodies are not the same and will end up being about the same anyway. Also, the ZX2 is a heavier car so spring rates will also be different.

Yes, thats the correct strut kit part#, but you'll also need the ZX2 thrust bearings and either to mod your current upper perch for it or get a set of any 97+ Escort or ZX2 upper perches.

I think he means Tokico... that's what I thought when he was saying toke, unless he plans on making a new "tool" out of an old strut housing......

Thanx for the link. I had heard there were blue and black tokicos - don't care about color, interested in different models if available. So I'll be able to order thrust bearings and spring perches for zx2 and no mods needed? thanx

Umm, don't the black Tokicos have Shorter Rods? I don't think it's just a color difference. The ZX2 S/R ones are a shorter by 15 mm according to everything I've ever seen about them... if the blues are the same length as far as the rods are concerned then why do they always cost more? better paint? well, looking at your pics that's th ebumpstop now isn't it? the Blue Tokicos are the "HP" ones.... maybe I just answered my own question huh?

Any 3rd gen strut bearing will work (the Escort one is Plastic and the ZX2 one is metal...but they both work)

the biggest difference and an asset to the S/Rs, is the fact the S/Rs are valved for a stiffer, lower spring.

The HP Blues are valved for a stock spring with a stock spring rate.

I called Tokico one day when this came up before and thats the info i got on the Blues...and only 12% stiffer than stock struts. S/Rs are unknown.
