Dude, lug pattern On Second Gen/3rd Gen/ZX2 is 4x100.
Basically, Most Honda Civic rims will work. So just think, NE rims U see on a 4 lug Honda Civic, U can't use.

The 1st Gen Escorts use a different Lug pattern, I think similar to the 2nd gen Prelude, Accords, and Toyota's, and older 4 lug Mustangs.

BTW: Read the 1st post in this thread and U would have saved me and U the trouble

    Backspacing/Offset

What's the difference between backspacing and offset; are they the same? Where are they defined?

    thx,

I just got a pair of aftermarket wheels (16") with 205 55 R16 Hankook and omg they could not get any closer. I got less than a pinky with between the inside side wall and rear strut and even less in the front. On $250 for the whole set with tires so I grabbed them. Deffinatly could use a set of spacers.

    Hmmmm, me the opposite

Me, what do I have [even I gotta see above, but I think 205-60-14; let me check for SURE] and mine are a SKINNY pinky from the fender lip on the back.

I always DID drive like an old man, but now I've gotta go slow over the bumps or the fender rubs the tire.

We can learn from each other; do you know how to measure the "backspace" on your wheels?

I compared my wheels to the factory steelies and I'm only 3mm further OUT, but of course the tire width comes into play, too.

[Edit; not further OUT, but further IN; like, GOOD THING the backspace was NOT the same as my steelies, or the fender would NEVER miss the tire; for clarification; the cast wheels have 3mm MORE backspace than my steelies, which puts the new cast wheels' tires CLOSER TO THE INSIDE. Of ocurse the 205's are wider than my stock tires, but we're talking about backspacing now; sorry for the confusing statement above]

Good luck to us both, ha.

    Rolling Fenders

I've seen "you guys" mentioning that on some other threads and I'm only guessing that it means "folding" that lip back UP ONTO the fender so it's completely out of the way? and does NOTHING to the external appearance of the fender [unless you'e an ant looking up?]. So is there a special tool for that, or pliers, vice grips? what goes? I mean, what do I need to get/borrow and how do I do it then?

    thx,

Will 205/75/R14 tires fit a stock 97 escort LX? My stock tires are 185/65/14. My friend gave me 4 brand new tires a while back but haven't had the chance to mount them onto my stock rims.

There is no way you are going to get those honking things on there. Sell them and buy the correct size.

The factory size. There are not many options other than that in 13".
