Hello, all im am new to FEOA, but not new the ford brand. My question is regarding aftermarket timing belt tensioner and idler pulleys. Ford is my first pick for these parts but has anyone been using cloyes or any other brands with sucess? I've used cloyes timing chain and gear sets but never there pulleys. Thanx for any insight.

And Ford dosent make there own parts either, all this im already aware of. I don't know who there supplier of timing parts is for ford, the aftermarket stuff can be considerable worse or excede OE quality and performance. So far i have found Cloyes and Gates making these pulleys. Just wondering if there any good.

yup if it spins freely and doesn't make a grinding noise it's good enough for me! mine still sound good (doing a water pump so you remove both pulleys) and they feel solid still :D junkyards hit em up, find some that spin nice, just kidding I'm sure any new one would be good! I mean it's just a sealed bearing so not much to go wrong. I guess.

but working on cars when you're sick sucks! no fun at all. alrighty I finish my scort!

I got mine from NAPA for about $50 CDN a pulley.

I think Mazda wanted $90 CDN a pulley
