Ive advanced my timing (or so i think i did) and dont feel the results, i want to know if i did it right, i just spun my distributor to the right(clockwise) to the proper spot. is this all you need to do? or do i need to make sure the first cylinder in the firing order is in the tdc position before i start?, anything else?

To do it properly, you need a timing light. And if you advance it, you'll need to up the octane of the fuel you put in to avoid pinging.

soo by using a timing light, and turning my distributor i am doing it right, i dont need to make sure its at tdc or anything, just simply loosen the distributor put the light on it, and since i shift over 5000 i would put it to 14degrees to get the better mid/high end and moderate low end increase?
