So I was replacing the throttle cable on my escort because the old one was stretched, and I discovered the new pioneer part that I was sent from RockAuto is a whole inch too long. The spec is 47.75 in but after speaking with somebody with access to a bit more information, it looks like the length should be 46.72. The part number for that one is an ATP Y-186, I called the company and they don't have it anymore. I was wondering if any of you wizards out there would have a similar replacement or some kind of solution for my 1-in too long cable using my very basic access to tools. I can't put the old cable back in, it was damaged too much on removal due to some old clips coming right off.

it is hard to visualize what your seeing, can you post some pictures? problem is all of these parts are obsolete, and you might have to make due with what you have. making a new mount might be in order

I was actually able to locate a NOS OEM cable, looks exactly the same as the one that came off so I think I (super duper) lucked out there. I'll get some pictures when I can, knee dislocated walking up the stairs coming back in from the garage this morning so I can't exactly go back out there rn but I think I might be alright with the OEM I ordered. Still wanna come up with a solution for others tho, if anyone else comes across this issue odds are they won't get so lucky in finding an OEM one like I did.
