My new $900 EGT. 102k miles. 5 Speed.

Dull paint, dent in the driver's door, but perfect other than that.

.. and at the top of my "To Do List", get that interior the hell out. I mean, what's it good for anyway?

Plans are for an RX7 VAM, advanced timing 18-19*, stripped interior, short throw shifter, BIG exhaust, k&n cone, new tires (the 205/70's DON'T float my boat), AC delete, PS delete, window washer delete, and the normal maintenance stuff (timing belt, water pump, etc)

It's a 1992 model...I'm 100% sure of it... it looks EXACTLY like my old car, only without the rust.

My door handles were black and had those same rims.

What year is yours FourDice?? I was under the impression that 91s had painted fan blades on the spiral rims while 92s didn't. Then in 93 they took the lug cover off.

There's a dent in the drivers door, the trim around the windows is peeling, some of the paint is dull, only 2 speakers work, and there's a funny noise coming from the AC condensor.
However, it has brand new tires (even thought they've GOT to go), a brand new clutch, and runs like a dream.

Bah... you're wrong, it's a 92. :p

I dunno. Before I had it all figured out then suddenly all these GTs kept popping up that weren't going along with the year to year changes I learned about...

I hate Ford...and Mazda...but I still want another GT. :D

Mine is a 91 gt and my paint is pure crap, my hood is pink and if it gets any worse i'll have to put a gay parade sticker...

Im buying a new car this summer but im still going to keep my egt because it's a really fun car.

Anyone can tell me one difference between 91 and 92? it's the only ones i have trouble comparing... We should write a article with pictures comparing the years...

I knew my old '92 inside and out, and the only really noticable difference I see is the gauge cluster. The tach says I redline at 5800 and the speedometer only reads to 85, oppose to my '92's which showed my redline at 7000, and the speedometer read to 120.

I'm gonna have this car in pieces in a few days:)twisted:), I'll letcha know any other differences I come upon..

.. and FourDice, good idea on not selling the EGT. I've owned my fair share of cars, and the overall simplicity, speed, and overall cost of repairs/upgrades doesn't really compare to anything I can find. :)

Excellent buy man. Great choice in color too! :p

From the outside, the only real difference I see from my 93 GT is the rear wing, the wheels and the body side molding.
Funny thing they did with those wheels on some cars. They only made one wheel, insteaf having a left and right side wheel. So on one side the spokes sweep backwards and on the other side they sweep forward. The stock wheels that came with my 93 look similar to yours, except for the lack of the center cap and mine sweep the same direction on both sides of the car. Its a nice looking car man. Excellent, excellent find.

'93 Wheels are soooo much sexier than the '91-2 wheels it's not even funny.. it's not just a lack of centercap, they're just.. sexy. :)

Planning on some Rota Circuit 8's with my tax return.

I still can't get over how enormous the tires are. :(

SHO slicer wheels are the same way. '91-93 they spin the right way on one side, and the wrong way on the other, but they fixed it and they all spin the right way on the '94-95. Ford's retarded. :)

My 93 had wheels spinning the right way on both sides. I agree though that the 93 wheels are sharp. I still ahve mine in the garage wrapped in plastic. They are in pristine condition and clean up so nice and shiny. I debated a long time wether or not I was going to replace them or just lower the car and get new tires on it.
There used to be a guy on the mailing list, Felix, he had a 93 like mine, Red and it was lowered on the factory wheels. It was one of the sharpest Escorts Ive ever seen. Gorgeous car, super clean. He had the door handles and mirrors painted to match the factory Cardinal Red and it just looked so damn nice. That new one youve got will be a nice car too. I cant wait to see how it turns out.

Nice car, looks like you got a good deal on that thing! Get the sport bronze or royal bronze color circuit 8's, they kick ass!

I am pretty sure the painted wheels were part of the "caymen edition" GT and that's why not all 91's have them.

205/70's??? What was the previous owner thinking?

I experimented briefly with 205/60's and those seemed like balloons compared to my current 195/55s. Hate to see a 70 on a GT...

But, good job on the car. It looks nice.
