158K is low for a 16 year old car. Average mileage per year is figured at 15K per year so a 16 year old car would have 240K on average.

I'm neither. My '88 is 21 years old with 494K. So it has averaged 23.5K per year and since I became disabled about 10 years ago my driving in that car has been cut by close to half. I bought the '88 in '93 with 146K miles. Check NADA and see what they consider to be the average mileage for a car to be driven anually. I recently saw an '88 that wasn't near as nice as this '91 go for $1000., it had rust spots that looked like someone had sprayed over with a rattle can and had about 130K miles.
