Hey all, I would like to but a Ford Escort RS TD form 1999. It has arround 130000 km run.

could you tell me few things I should keep in mind when testing the car?

What should I look for, things to extra check?

Rust - frame, rocker panels and strut towers in particular.
Check when the timing belt was changed last
Look for maintenance records. A good sign the car was maintained
Unusual wear on tires
Brake pad thickness
Shimmy at highway speeds

That's what comes to my mind immediately.

Is this a European Escort? Better to ask locally, this is mostly for US spec cars.

It does sound European. I don't think there ever was an Escort RS in the US.

It really shouldn't have much of an effect on what to check, though.
