I am curious if i can remove the thermactor of my 86 scort gt.

In addition....
if i am able to remove it what do i do with all the tubes tat run into it?
can i pinch them and fold em over (the tubes that is)

any input is appriciated....

If the emissions system is working correctly, I would leave it. The air pump is there for a reason: to burn off unmetered fuel in the catalytic converter. Without fresh air coming in, your catalytic converter will plug with carbon and die prematurely.

Yet some models never came with an air pump. Curious. No, I don't think the thermactor is an issue to remove, but beware that you may get a gunked up cat, or it may leak if you don't crimp off the tubes.

There are check valves on the cat. Mine is long gone and I have had no problems.

where is the cat located as i belive i do not have one...

Right after the header on your gt. Basically, under the shifter.

I'm really surprised that an air pump was installed on a fuel injected 4 cyl.
