okay, lets recap this. I started this car out posting on the BP side of the Website, here is the link:
http://www.feoa.net/modules.php?name=Fo ... sc&start=0
I figured I'd get this started by adding recent work to the car. Oh, and yes, I'm working on the GLI ground FX on my other car too, just bare with me. Got a Parts car, and I've gotta have it stripped ASAP, so it can be sent to the crusher!

Here's my recent work.

Rear Hatch W/spoiler on my 91 LX Auto, FTW Now it has Sunroof and spoiler! Had to patch it and fix it and seal the stock holes W/RTX, should be water tight now. :D

Why Doesn't the Hatch match up right here!!!!! Minor differences between `91 to 94? I got the Hatch/spoiler/rear bumper from was that pinkish-red color, not the deep red like the rest of the car.

Just so you guys know, NO! I did not drill holes in the `91 Hatch and install the reflectors and spoiler. Why do that? Got a whole Hatch to swap out. Yes, I took the rear pillar loose, disconnected the clip under the seat belt reel, pull the wiring through, then unbolted it, moved it over to this car, swapped out the grey panels for the red ones, (except the interior 3rd brake light delete, needed that to cover the hole) then propped the hatch in the slot, ran the wiring, then bolted it to the car. HEY! the actuators work on this hatch! Did ALL OF THIS BY MYSELF, NO HELP!!!!! Hatches are frickin heavy, no hoist or lift, all out in the open. Still looking for a decent passenger side headlight fixture, and possibly a radiator support thats not pushed in....

Ya know...that is rather funny! 8O When I swapped out the rear hatch (by myself and yes they are heavy) mine lined up THE EXACT same way: gap too large and slightly raised above the roof of the car. I took it of a GT that I bought for the GT/LX conversion and it had been hit in the driver's rear. I thought that it was "tweaked" from the accident but now I'm starting to wonder.  I used a block of wood and a five pound dead blow to "adjust" things and got it to line up quite close...

Actually, I was thinking the same thing

Was it a hatch from a 2dr put on a 4dr? maybe they are made different, ever so slightly. I don't think this hatch was tweeked, nor the car I put it on, (even though the car I put it on the frame on the passenger side front is pushed in and down). I dunno. The car I put it on doesn't exactly drive straight down the road, but I figured alignment would fix it. It was never aligned after the wreck. And the tires are dryrotted.

Yep. The LX that I bought for the conversion...didn't have a spoiler on it and I figured that an entire hatch swap would be a lot easier than punching holes in the existing deck lid. Especially since I repainted the whole car anyway. It was green and red for a few months, though!

which route did you take for the wiring,

pull it outta the frame behind the back panels, or

pull it outta the frame of the Hatch.

I started to do the second, but the connectors got caught halfway up it!

okay, figured out how to get the hinges off for the rear hatch, may just swap them out. Also, it has a little room for play, so thats where the adjustment is. It really does look like the Hinge for the later models is different, or I would just tweek it into place.

News, got the fan to work, but not the way I hoped. Tried swapping out relays and sensors to no avail, (except the $60 Low Temp Fan Sensor, didn't have a spare one). No I went the easy route and rewired the toggle switch to the fan. Doesn't seem like it's going to high speed, but I didn't run it that long. it ran out of gas before it could warm up.

Got rid of some of the screw-type hose clamps the previous owner put on, replaced them with the Spring -type Ford puts on thexe things. I trust those alot more. Need to get the other green rim out of my moms car, cause it is a 13" rim, and it will only fit in the rear of her 94 Wagon. I have a 14" donut from my friends old ZX2 S/R to replace it with. At least that one will fit in the front too.

Got one of the 2 painted door handles on, gonna look in a J/Y or see if I can find some cheap on here. The only problem swapping parts from the parts car is it is the Corrent Red, and the Project car is Wild Strawberry Red, Both are Metallic collors so in the pictures the colors look close. Not the case up close, as the parts car looks more pink.

Chime in, lemme know whatcha think of the Fix-it car. Hopefully I'll get the Come-along my dad's been promising he'd get for the last 5 weeks! I'll start posting pics when I start pulling it out. Think I'll hire my little sister as camera-man for while I do it action. Maybe even video

Out of the hatch. There were a few curves and inner supports to work around and a piece of Oxy/Acetl rod bent into a "tow vehicle", helped GREATLY. Coat hanger would work too... 8)

So you're fixing the car in your sig? :D
When I bought the LX it was "hit" in the front. Still has the original AC condenser, radiator, head lights. The upper support was bumped in about 1+ inches and I opted for the Tracer hood and corner lights, GT bumpers with fog's and GT rocker flares (STILL NOT ON IT...think new rockers) along with all the interior.

Kept the 1.9L 5-speed!!! ;) :notworthy: :thumright:

My little "Winter Scoot"... 8)

Upper radiator support was broke and screwed back together. If I had a tracer front-end, or even a protege front-end I'd use it! I kindda like the 4door hatch protege Idea. And, when I get done with the car, It would be a protege, with a loud Blowoff!!!!!
