So I'm going down the road with a green light on my side. This Corolla thinks that she has a green arrow (coming the opposite way). I T-boned her at about 50. I had both seat belts on and I was able to "walk" away. My neck was sore, so as I precaution I went to the hospital for x-rays. I was sent home later that day. I'll post pictures tonight (the car not the xrays). The car's safety feature did what they were supposed to. I hit my left knee on the dash but nothing a little time won't cure. The Escort is totalled. The front end was shorten by a few inches and it was leaking all of its fluids. The hilarious part is that both headlights didn't break. The radiator and oil pan didn't make it but the headlights and the Millen grille made it thru. Sucks thou, new cv joints and brakes all the way around, less than two months ago. The clutch has less than 10K on it. No matter what I get for it, I'll never be able to replace it. Lesson: wear your seatbelts! That wreck was less than 2 miles from my house.

PS: Get that highly rare RMM grill off the car.

So good so far and the grill is spoken for. I hit at the perfect angle for the safety equipment I had. I didn't even have a seat belt welt. It was pretty much the same aches that I had when I did a tandom parachute jump. I think my neck hurt more that time. I'm going to see a chiropractor this week just to be sure (and so I set off the great chiropractor vs physio therapy disscusion, lol).

I had it for 7 years and it served me well. I have a 2003 Accord so I'll keep my eye out for another. It's a shame thou, I had the Corksport short shifter, the springs and shocks, the Protege mirrors, new headliner, perfect seats, EGT floor mats (new on eBay) and new CV joints and new brakes (two months ago). The only thing that didn't work was the cruise. I swear it drove like it was only a 5 year old car. After that hit, I think I'll be looking for something with an air bag.

and it's always kinda been a pet peeve of mine, the whole "most wrecks happen within a few miles of your home" thing. well OF COURSE THEY DO! the majority of your driving is within a few miles of your home so logically so are most of your wrecks.

good luck with finding a replacement gt. lol i was driving through burger king the other day and the guy working there complimented me on my gt (which is in only average shape with 200k miles on it now). he said he was looking for one for such a long time, he just gave up and bought a zx2. don't settle like he did!

damn thats a shame to see a egt all crashed like that i never see them anywhere i only seen like 2 others in life including the one i own. damn sorrry bout the loss best of luck to u finding another when i found mine it looked ready for the junk yard its ran like shit and drove like shit but its turning into a jem now hopefully you run into another egt, goodluck.
