lately i've been drinking a lot of this stuff called Kirin Ichiban....it's a japanese import, which i thought might be a little weird but it's really smooth and tasty and i luff it.

so last night i tried a couple new ones....the first was some stuff called Bohemia. it's a mexican import, and i figured i'd give it a shot since i like corona and thought i'd do a little comparison. the conclusion: really good s**t! it tastes kinda sweet, but it's got a nice citrus-y kinda thing goin on too. i'd prolly go as far as to say it's better than corona, but it better be at almost nine bucks for a six pack.

a friend last night bought this little four pack of sam adams stuff in a box. it was like ten bucks but holy hell was it worth it. it's a limited production thing that they're doing called the Brewer Patriot Collection. included are one 12oz bottle of each of the following: traditional ginger honey ale, george washington porter, james madison dark wheat ale, and the 1790 root beer brew.

they were all really really reeeeaallly awesome. the ginger honey ale was sweet and smooth but with a teeny little kick of ginger in the background. the porter pretty much had that same sorta bitter-ish taste as regular sam adams, except maybe a little stronger....and very dark. we poured it into a mason jar and couldn't see light thru it. i don't really remember much specifics about the wheat ale, but i remember it being really good.

ahhh, the 1790 root beer brew. we saved that one for last, and it did not disappoint. i'm pretty sure this is the best beer i've ever had. i don't even know how to explain it....there were so many flavors coming out of it that i can't even identify them all. i wish i could get it in a six pack, but at the same time i don't, because mass production might spoil its greatness.

if you're lookin to just relax and kick back a few beers instead of getting wasted (which is what they make whiskey for anyway), i'd highly recommend that you give the brewer patriot pack a shot.

Its good cause its not really a jap recipe it a german recipe. I had some at a susi bar once cause it was all they had (jap beer's I mean) and so I picked that one and thought thats pretty good for a jap beer, then the server told me it's cause it was a german recipe, I was like oh ok that makes sence.

I've gone to BJ's on Wednesdays, unless they don't promote the beer nights then they aren't doing it. Sidenote. I know Paul, the owner of BJ's... his kids have CF, as does my best friend, met him a couple times, he's a great guy. Wouldn't surprise me if he did promo nights, but BJ's is more known for their in-house brews than for other brands. at least around here. I'm a big fan of their Jeremiah Red and Nuty Brewnete... oh and their Tatonka Stout is a good sub for a Guiness while you're eating there, and it goes great with their Pizookies.

If you like Black & Tan - try a Black & Blue! It's out favorite summer beer!

    It's about 40% Guinness and about 60% Lienenkugel's Berry Beer http://www.leinie.com/berry_weiss.htm

(trust me - they go down smooth and fast!!)

I love Bass Ale, and then Sam Adams.

I really can't drink the cheapo stuff (sorry folks) I have to drink a 12 pack of MGD's before a buzz starts and then I am usually spending most of my time in the john recycling it!!

Looks like a pretty good beer glass month.

    August 7th: Aventinus glasses
    August 14th: Belhaven glasses
    August 21st : Chimay glasses
    August 28th: Shiner glasses

The shiner is ok, but still pretty good.

That's not what I mean. What I meant was how could such an important thread be forgotten so that it ends up on the 4th page of Off-Topic threads.

We know how to whore out a thread way past 4 pages no problem

    :)

last night i bought a 12 pack called the sam adams "winter classics". there are six different beers, two of each: regular sam adams, a dark lager called the "winter lager", and even darker one called "black lager", a porter, an ale called the Fezziwig (named after a character from Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"), and a lambic with a touch of cranberry. they're all really really good....my favorite is the black lager.

prolly you should pick one up sometime.

it censored Charles D!ckens' name :?
