I have a 1995 Ford Escort 1.6 16v lx

The Tempature Gauge has stoped working.... any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Also Im have the Timing Belt changed, the Car has 75,000 mile on the clock, I have been told this needs to be changed every 80,000 miles.

Is this correct?

Also Ive been told changing the Water Pump is also a good Idea while changing the Timing Belt?

from where are you anyway?...based on your car's engine you are from europe( 1.6l 16v) anyway if you have the 1.9l engine(here in the states) it is a good idea to change the water pump when changing your timing belt(less hassle and doing it at the same time)......also its good to change the timing belt at least 60k miles(for me) or 70k(for anyone else)...also regarding your temp gauge...i guess your temp sender/switch is going bad or you probably got a bad connection(corrosion on terminals)...hope this helps...
