my brother put a new clutch and flywheel in my car this weekend and car starts up great, drives awsome clutch grabs, and no CEL

but my temp guage doesnt work now, and the fan doesnt turn on

the fan is pluged in and the coolant res. plug is pluged in

what in the world could cause this??? as far as we both can tell everything is hooked up and pluged in

There's a support bracket that is held on by one of the trans. mount bolts.

That bracket is just under your throttle body and is the ground for the sending units that work your temp gauge and fan.

Your brother would have taken the bolt out of that bracket to get your trans out.

Did he put it back in ???

IF not, temp gauge and fan no work cuz they aint' grounded.

Just a thougth

lol sorry i did the clutch and flywheel on my brothers car, i thought i was logged onto his name

but yes i see the bracket you are talking about, and didnt even notice the ground at the time so didnt bother to bolt it back into place

once he gets home from school im going to bolt it down and im almost 100% positive everything should work then

thanks so much guys!

OK, just for the heck of it, do you have a jumper wire you can use to jump that bracket to a different ground ???

Just wondering if the bolt hole was dirty and didn't make a good connection?

A temperary jumper to create a different ground would exclude this possibility and we can move on.

What cha think?
