if u wanna do some fab work, there was a pic i seen back when the escort racing site was up and running that someone had used nissan skyline tail lights. but if someone around my area happends to find tracer wagon tail lights, hit me up.

Unless you are good at or know someone into vacuum forming and molding, the next best way is to find car with similar taillights, like a civic, and work the whole metal bucket into your quarter panel. Some have done it, I don't know where to find any pics...
I know I have personally dropped a message and even talked to reps. on the phone of many aftermarket light manufactures to let them know that there is a market for them if descent one were made; headlights too. I wonder why they make them for Accents and Achievas, but not the Escort!
I am taking my own route, I recently picked up halo, halogen lights for a MX6 and am going to fuse them into the stock light housing. I'll take pics when they arrive, and progress shots if interested...

lets get a mass petition going around saying were tired of not having any aftermarket support for the 2nd gen escort. theres gotta be SOME way to get somebody to make stuff for them. it makes me mad sometimes lol the escorts worlds nicer then the accents and achievas and civics, i could go on and on...

they tried to make them. I have a pic of the design that was made up for the 2nd gens. The problem we ran into was that there was a group buy in. People put down that they would pay, but when it came time for people to pony up the cash, they didn't. I think there were around 30 people that commited to buy, and only 4 or 5 of us that actually put our money where our mouths were. The company backed out, and refunded our money. It's a shame, but that's what happened.

Somebody with a strong background in good sales here should set up a paypal just for group buys. Then you could pool resources, and only move forward given an actual monetary response instead of just a verbal one. ;)

that really really sucks... we should try to get another one going, but somehow make it so everybody pays upfront when they say they are in... i would be so down to get some taillights and cash wont be an issue for me by summer time. maybe they would still do it. can u post the pic of the taillights?

I'll have to post a pic up later when I am on my other computer. They were an altezza style, but that was the style back then.

To be honest, I have decided that I am happy with the stock tail lights now. I can mod them to look how I want... rather do that then buy something that someone else thinks is cool

i like the factory ones, i just want something modern, i absolutely do not want those shiny flashy stuipid looking tailights.

That's where I have always been on the fence about the taillights. Those chrome taillights, IMO, look good on few car and even fewer paint colors. I like the smoked look with the paint, with my style, it works.
