Ok so I hear that the swaybar from a 95 (or any other corresponding year) escort will bolt right on to a ZX2.. is this true?

If so would I be able to purchase the front and rear swaybar kit for a 91-94 mazda 323/protege (I believe these are the ones that match up with 91-95 escort) and bolt it right up to the ol' ZX2...??

Thanks in advance and feel free to correct what I probably messed up..

Yes, the sway bars are the same for 91+ Escort/ZX2's and 90-94 Protege/323's.

I would really think the aftermarket add-ons (i.e. suspension techniques) for the Mazda or EGT will fit the ZX2, the front mounts from underneath to the stock bar. The stock bar remains in place and the new bar is added to it. The rears will fit fine, they replace the stock bar.

A thicker front bar will give you more understeer, while a thicker rear bar will give you more oversteer. The same size bars will give you a more balanced and neutral handling car.

Although for a really tight race set-up, you could use a stock 1" front ZX2 bar and get the Quickor 1" rear bar for a balanced neutral set-up. But let me tell you this now, changing the front sway bar will truely test your sanity...... 8O

Whatever (race) plans you have for the car will determine was size to get and what set-up to use. Then your driving style/preference will be the final factor.

For now, i use the susp. tech 22mm rear bar w/supplied poly bushings and endlinks, With just the 19mm stock front bar w/ES poly bushings and endlinks. I like a little oversteer :)

Due to a flat tire I've been driving with 175/70R13 snowtires on the back and my 205/50R16 Sumitomos on the front over the weekend. Lemme tell you about oversteer  Wheeeeee

I drifted sideways through a major intersection yesterday,... by accident. 8O

Just thought I'd share :D

StevieJ: just to echo what everyone has said... yes the bars will work. If you decide to go with the 1" rear Quickor bar I'd suggest you upgrade the front as well. The 1" rear is very popular but if you want a more balanced setup its good to upgrade the front as well. I sell the Quickor bar. One of my suppliers carries the Suspension Techniques stuff so I'd have to get back to you with a cost.

I think a more balanced ride is what Im after.. Im just looking to get rid of the horribly large amount of body roll that plagues the ZX2 but hell beening able to take turns like nobodys business would be nice to.... ok so whats the suggestions on what size I should go to... (I know I need at least a 19mm bar on back...)

I LOVE my 1" (25mm) rear swaybar. Not a single drawback from what I can tell so far. Coupled with H&Rs there's almost zero body roll. In my sig, my car is actually turning kinda hard, mid slolom.. but it looks like it's barely turning at all. (I'm running a stock front bar) I'm going to be putting some urethane mounts on the front bar, but I doubt I'll add a larger one. Mild lift-throttle oversteer with a FWD is fun, and it's easy to control.

I just put the 1" quickcor bar on my '97lx last night. Now i'm running that big bar in the back, and everything else is stock. It makes a big difference. I autocross also, though, so i like oversteer as well. The bar fits 3rd gens fine, but i did have to do a little bending and grinding to make things fit. All in all, though, it was pretty easy. I'd recommend this bar to anyone with a 3rd gen.

Ok so Im thinking of going with a 22mm (possibly the 1") rear bar. does anyone know the stock size of the front bar on the zx2?? Size of my rear bar will be determined by stock front size..(I would like to keep the front the same size or possibly something like 2mm smaller than the rear...

ouch? That is cheaper than corksport sells them when you factor in shipping. People always forget I give my prices with shipping. Those bars are pretty heavy so shipping isn't cheap. Just as a warning to oneone purchasing one from whatever company. the shipping will surprise you unless they actually eat some of the shipping costs.

So...on top of my 460+shipping for the exhaust system I gotta save up another $325 for the set of swaybars? Sweet.

Matt keep this up and I may start buying everything from you and Pimp. Hell if you start sellin Full rust free Escorts from AZ, I will buy from you guys :p

Just for kicks n giggles, can you get me a price on the ST front and rear 1" quickor bars? I'd like to see what the difference is.

hmm... lets say $350 shipped. They have to be drop shipped from two different places so I can't go a lot lower right now anyway.

P.S. If you are willing to pay for it I'll find a local EGT get it all setup for you and ship or drive it out to you. Last time I checked shipping a car from MI to AZ was about 800 bucks.
