Anyone done this? This would be on my '94 Tracer Sedan. Is it easy as getting LED bulbs from a part store?

I think it pretty much is. You have to pry the dome light lens down, from starting at the rear side I think, then it pops out. To get to the map lights you have to take out the screws and let the dome lamp assembly dangle. With the simplet l.e.d.s I was using, you had to have the bulb inserted the propr way. Inserted the other way they dont light up. The dome light bulb itself also had to be inserted the right way.
A continuing problem with my cars is that the door switches get dirty and dont close well enough to bring the dome light on. I have taken the switches out and cleaned their contacts as well as I could, and the dome light worked right for a season or two.

Thanks! I'll do some digging around. Are they just simple small LED's from like O'Reillys?

Yup. There are only two bulb types. For the main dome light its one of the shorter ,cartridge, shapes with conical ends. For the map lights its the l.e.d. equivalent of the 194 bulbs.

Beware of the lamps for the map/reading sockets the bulbs sit at awierd angle in reference to the lens in the housing. If you get an LED bulb that has multiple LEDs or one that has only one forward facing led, you won't get any light out of it that's worth the effort. Also there was a production. Change in 94-95 and some of the map lights are a bayonet base 168 style bulb while others were a wedge 194. As far as the dome light, there are many options and colors available. I tried a few and was sorely disappointed in the results. I ended up using a 12 volts pod that is usually used for store front sign lighting.http://www.google.com/search?q=3 LE...N3VAhUL34MKHTGxBmwQ_AUIBigB#spf=1502946758115
