Engine SVO "M-6049-B111" cylinder head

    It's difficult to find this information. For instance several heads may have different casting numbers, but the same part number indicating that Ford considered them functionally identical.

    But how do you find the corresponding part number to a casting number? Especially thirty years after? Ford dealers may once have had that information, as did some engine rebuilders.

    It would be great if one of the SVO heads, new in the box, would one day show up on ebay so we could see for sure the casting numbers on it. Who knows, maybe it would turn out to be a turbo head. Or maybe an oddball European head.

    Consider this first generation HO head I found on ebay a couple years ago. It has a 1988 part number, but a 1994 casting number:
