well unfourtunatly you will never ride very close to stock with a ride with any drop at all. and the more the drop the more you compound the ride issue. then at a point you hit coilovers which are worse than springs. especially people with coilovers that would say they were awesome say that the ride is tough but not terrible and its way tougher than stock.

your searching for the fountian of youth... there is either no such thing or no one can find it

Escortlx96... have you even tried that setup that you're talking about?
I can speak from experience... if you don't want a rough ride, don't go aftermarket.

I went from stock to tokico blues with G/C up the wazoo and eibach springs and other stuff... the ride was harsh as hell. It handled really well, though.

The stuff you're looking for isn't really sold in aftermarket... aftermarket stuff is all geared for competitve use. Try driving one of the new mercedes sometime and you'll see a suspension setup that OWNS the aftermarket stuff out there. Stock suspension setups on nice cars are better than most of the aftermarket crap you can get for cars like ours. Case in point: my friend's C320 with stock suspension completely destroys my 1300+ dollar setup that I had on my EGT. Totally destroys it. The ride quality is amazing, and the handling characteristics were every bit as good as mine.

Face it. Your car sucks. Stop wasting your money and just get a nicer car.

lol if i had a dime for everytime siragan said Escorts sucked, I'd be a fookin millionaire. The funny thing is the next day he runs out and buys a modification for his GT. :D

GC= damn good coilovers, ride quality is poor but teamed with good struts, you will corner better.

KYB= near stock ride quality, handling is improved a tad bit.

not so much... at first read i was like true that... but then i got to thinking about it. you say 1200 dollars into suspension for your car. the suspension on those cars could easily be up into the 10s of thousands of dollars so really in compairison they are similar for their price. and also they are not lowered like he was wanting to do.

Have u also noticed anyone who makes are stock struts for the escorts.
I looked at one it said tokico, every one in the junk yard or anywhere i seeits tokico on the stock!

I went kyb gr2 with intrax sprins, 1.75 drop rides good for me. no back problems or anything. have had it for 2.5 years. i dont bottom out. when i go over little hills of train track the suspension stays with the ground i dont fly up, iand the littel honda next to me always keeps bouncing and i dont .

I am trying the cheap 40 adjustable coilover kits next for the heck of it. i want to sit lower and the car isnt being used for racing aroudn anymore. we have a cheap set on a wagon, and it hadles well and is basically the same thing as gc just way cheaper.

The S/R Tokicos were made for Eibach sport springs.. that's the combination that came stock on the S/R ZX2

Now.. Siragan's firsthand experience is with Tokico blue shocks with 2.5" diameter Eibach race springs... yeah.. that's a little stiffer. It's also out in left field in this thread.
