So, I've been wanting to do this for a while and finally got everything to do it. Basically, I initially had the idea to do a "hard wood" floor (laminate) in my 89' wagon due to the fact that the spare tire cover had turned into a floppy piece of cardboard and everything kept falling into the hole where the spare should be that didn't come with the car. Afterwords, I had seen the Mighty Car Mod guys on YouTube do a sub mounted in a tire and the two just made perfect sense. So with a 14" tire from the wreckers, some MDF board, a couple a 2x4's, and the laminate flooring, this setup was born. I also have lined the hatch floor and spare well with some U-seal roof repair. That stuff makes a pretty decent sound deaden-er for about $14 a roll. The sub is a 12" JVC and a Lighting Audio amp picked up second hand. Got it all tuned up and it actually sounds really good!
