I have a 2002 ZX2 w/196000, she's beat to hell but always starts, the few issues I've had were probably caused by me in the first place. What I've noticed recently is rust..it came very sudden and its everywhere. My question could an unconnected wire that is maybe touching the frame or whatever be the cause? I've replaced a pulley last fall and had to remove alternator in order to do that and I've also wired my headlights directly as my connectors were bad..I havent done anything else with electric system. Yes I know it's old and rust will happen but it's like it developed rustpox overnight. Any advice would be great.

    You don't show your location.
Maybe you are in the rust belt and are seeing the effects of one winter of salted roads on your car?
