Thats a sweet looking box. What thickness is the wood? I know you want dense wood and all but i would think oak would be a it too much. Second how much does that thing way. I know how much my jl´s ina band pass weigh, i can´t imagine how much that box would weigh though. How long did it take you to do that cause it really does look pretty profesional. Nice job on it!!

LOOKS GOOD, UNIQUE!!! If you think it may weigh to much but like the look, you could strip your box of carpet or build a box then cover it with lenolium, (dunno if I spelled it right but I´m sure you know what I mean, floor stuff)

Uhmm is 3/4 inch oak...took about a week to make.. its.. enclosed and sealed´ (one chamber per sub)
Only took a two days to cut and stick the box together.. the wood staining took the longest .. drying and appling coats followed by a clear coat…. I'll have to take a picture of it in the car.. looks really nice.. …. I gonna say it weight about 150 lbs..
Nice thing is the handles.. I can take it out and bring it inside for parties

Has to really lower the back a bit too huh? Just out of curiosity where did you get the wood for it and abot how much did it cost to make? I ahve been trying to find somthing new to do with my stereo for a bit and maybe I might like to try that.

yea i´m all about the cheap - ´make-yourself´ sound system! i made my box with $10 of mdf wood, 12" ultimate sub and 250W alpine amp for $90 and $150 respectively, replaced front stock 6" with kenwoods for $60, and 5x7 2 way rockford´s in the back for $120. another $15 for power cord n stuff and sounds amazing! not competition quality, but you can hear it from far away

I went with Phoenix Gold for the interior. Sounds really nice…
I was thinking of replacing the 5.25 with MD Quarts, they go for about $400 Canadian for 2.

It all comes down to what you listen to, and how much money you´d like to invest. Also how you'd like it to sound

As for work.. I do Situation Management …

I bought them from my local audio shop...actually I bought them in Greenwood, MS since I like dealing with them better than the shop in G´ville. They are Virtual Technologie boxes and you can buy them still. I don´t know about getting them built like mine b/c these were factory finished. The ones they have now are in sections that you have to put together and paint/cover. I like my style boxes better since they are cover even in a baked, black, textured finish. They are pretty big, I have to keep my back seat down when both are in there, but they are loud as hell.

MB Quartz are the way to go. They are worth the money. I got pioneerin the doors and decks and pioneer 6 x8´s in my explorer doors. And I am pleased with them, I have never had a problem with anything pioneer and have always been pleased with the sound.
Now rascal are those 12´s you got there? I was wondering what you needed such a large box for. And did you stuff it with anything?

Yep, those are 12´s!! Time two!! LOL I didn´t stuff them with anything...they are opened all the way as far as when they were put together. The port is pretty big, and I´m sure the boxes are not real to spec. for those 12´s but those damn things are loud..thats for sure..
. I´m sure if I tweeked on the boxes some to tune them just right...they would hit a little bit more above 146.6 dB.
