This is for 2nd gens mainly. Are the struts for the GT and LX the same? I think they are but with different springs. Can anybody confirm this? There´s a wrecked 95 LX near me with 26K on it and if the struts are the same, I can just go nick those to replace my aging 81K units. Price would be less than half the cost of purchasing new KYB´s....

as far as i know the GTs came with Macpherson struts and sport springs, but the LXs didn´t. at least this is what i found when i went looking for reviews of a 2nd gen GT.

the egt´s an lx h/b´s have the same size spring/strut methinks, but i don´t know for sure. they don´t have the same kind though (macpherson)

I thought all the 2nd gen scorts had macpherson strut fronts and chapman strut rears (???). I know my LX wagon has macpherson fronts.

I took a strut and spring off an LX and put it on my GT and it bolted right up and works just fine.

Well, the part numbers are the same for them so that would lead one to think that the struts are the same. Now I think the springs have a little different spring rate from the factory but they work on either one.
