Stock ´93 GT at the track

I sort of inherited a very used, beat up ´93 escort from my sister. It ran like crap when I got it, but when I checked the timing it had jumped time and was 3 teeth off on the intake, and 1 tooth off the exhaust
. So, after puting on a new timing belt it was ready to rock. My other car is a 300whp turbo MX-6 which isn´t much of a daily driver anymore. I decided to run the ´cort down the 1320 to see what it had. Turns out it was putting some ricer civics and such to shame. So, with 150,000 mile and a giant split in the downpipe, and a clutch that decided to slip, here is the timeslip:
60´ 2.554 (yeah, I know)
330 7.112
1/8 10.820
MPH 66.75
1000 13.997
1/4 16.683
MPH 83.80

I was pretty happy, hoping for a HIGH 15 pass, but the clutch wasn´t holding powershifts at all. Also, the 2.5 60´ is not what I wanted to see at all. What have others run w/ stock GT´s?

60ft...2.397
1/8....10.481 @66.39mph
1/4....16.300 @84.08mph

sorry...but the track i was at doesnt post the 330ft times on the friday
night street event.

these times were posted in my stock 93 tracer lts with the filter removed
and the spare tire and jack removed. i launched by bringing the rpms to
about 2500 or 3000 and when the lights came down i nailed it and let the
clutch out agressively (didnt dump it) and shifting at just under 6500 for
all 3 shifts.
Man I need some help....I was really hoping for a 16.5 but only hit a 16.82 @ 81mph. I dropped my sub box, spare and jack (which all got stolen when my friends walked away from my stuff
)

Anyhow, I need to get more power out of it, I´m scared that I´m loosing compression.

Decent run, too bad you had a crap ass reaction time. You need to work on that. Seriously, I´d drive a damn Metro at the trak If I could hit a .500 light and nail my Dial-in every time. Thats the cool thing about bracket racing. You could race a Yugo against a Ferarri, but if the Yugo gets a better reaction time and nails the dial in he will win.

Now that´s an ok R/T I had a .508 slip somewhere, but can´t find it. The Honda next to me had an awsome R/T too, for a blind man.

What did the rest of the time slip look like? R/T, 60ft, Mph yadda yadda. Oh something just popped into my head. Do they measure Kph instead of Mph at Canadian drag stips?

Oh and do they call a Quarter Pounder a Royale with cheese?

I will post all the info of my 16.2 when I get back from school.

Anyone did a better time than 16.2 with a stock escort without having to strip the whole car appart?

The only thing I have is a cheap airfilter.

I still can´t believe my friend stock elantra was pulling 15.9.

And where I go ´Luskville Dragway´
they subtrack our reaction time from our time

Anyway, thanks for your input, I can´t wait to put my turbo in.

WHAT!!! Why would they subtract your reaction time from you 1/4 mile time? That will give you a false time. If that is so, then the worse your reaction time is the better your 1/4 mile time is. I think you misunderstood something somewhere down the line.
Reaction: 1.029
(yeah i know, i was sleeping)
I1: 2.367
I2: 7.060
I3: 0.002
MPH (I3): 67.031
E.T: 16.224 @ 84.556

So i guess it´s good exept for the reaction time, well that´s because i was thinking of breasts again...

Thinking about breasts??? Now I´ve heard it all. I guess with the way the lights are paired on the christmas tree maybe they could resemble a 3 pair of yellow breasts, a pair of green brests and a pair of red breasts. Just remeber that you have to leave right after you see the second set of yellow breasts light up if you want to get a good R/T. but don´t leave before then or you will wake up the nipple of the red breast that is in your lane, and it won´t be happy.

Nobody answered this question yet. I´m really interested in knowing what goes on North of the border.
The second pair of yellow breasts... Got it. hehe

In canada, they mesure by mph.
