I figure this has been covered before, but can't seem to find it. My daughter's 97 escort lx sedan (automatic transmission) has an accelerator that is a bit sticky. When you first press it down, it does nothing for about the first 1/4 inch or so. After you depress it a bit more, it takes off quickly. It's a little annoying, especially since I'm trying to teach her younger brother to drive in it. He doesn't have the feel of feathering it out yet.
Is there a way to remedy it? I lubricated the pedal linkage and the springs/hinges where the throttle cable connects to the throttle. I don't know what else to try. Thanks in advance!
