I have searched all over the place for the "How To:" and can't seem to find it, I will however be making my own complete with pics and foolproof instructions.

I finally got some spring compressors and figured I might as well contribute somthing...

Sure post it up. I've changed them before myself, but for someone that has never done it it might save them getting hurt by flying springs. LOL

Hmmm...I've hit a rough spot...the Cotter pins holding the sway bar to the control arm...well it broke...NOW...I'm confused. Ways to get it out?

It's a bolt, not a cotter pin. Go out and buy a new endlink set and cut the old one off any way you can.

No, the nut on the bottom of the bolt has a cotter pin through it which broke off but is still keeping the nut from turning and coming off...

If the end broke off that has the hole in it where the bend is take a small punch like you use to remove roll pins and you should be able to drive it out. If it was the other end you should be able to place an ice pick or similar instrument and put it in the hole and pry it out that way, or get hold of it with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull it out.

Are you sure you aren't talking about the tie rod end? I have never seem a cotter pin associated with the swaybar on an Escort.

haven't seen one for the '03 scort. Supposedly the 98-99 ZX2 one will work, but alas, my father will not let me buy it. I prolly will anyway and just hide it.

A father who doesn't trust his son to put the car back together in a "Safe to drive" condition and won't get out there and help?

Oh, he's more than willing to help, but he won't accept that the '98 manual is the same thing...

The manuals they make for Escorts run from 91-00. I guess they didn't decide update the manual. The only thing I would think is different is electrical but otherwise they should be the same thing.
