Starting engine swap NEED HELP

781 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Beaverboy
I just bought a 95 Escort GT and a 96 Escort Wagon. I am wanting to put the engine out of the GT into the Wagon. I know that transmission/wiring/mounts aren´t the same thats why I bought the hole car. what I want to know is will the clutch linkage and thuradle linkage bolt you or does that need to be swaped aswell. But The most important thing I need to know is will the CV shafts from the wagon bolt in to the trans. if not will the GT shafts bolt in the the wagon suspenion? Any Info. will be very helpful

Thanks

Thanks for the info. it very helpful. there are a few other thing I was wondering. Will I have to change any bearings or seals when I change the CV shafts? Also will the cross member bolt right in or is there some more fab. needed?

Thanks

also since the gt uses a hydrolic clutch, remember to swap the master cylinder from the gt as well because it uses the brake fluid for it.

My wagon Has a 5-speed in it aswell, doesn´t it have a hydrolic clutch aswell or is the escort GT´s only have hydrolic clutchs?

Thanks for all the help guys,
