My shifter is making alot of squeaking noised everytime I shift. I assume that I have to lubricate some sort of linkage or whatever it is that is sqeaking. Also, it´s starting to feel very tight. Tighter than normal, and his hard to shift sometimes. It has caused my to grind out sometimes, which concerns me.

Does anybody have any idea what exactly would be causing this and how I can fix it relatively easily?

Thanx

I think that is some point you hit your shifter and it felt down the shaft. grab your shifter and try to pull it up. I had the same thing happend a long time ago. Also you may need to clean and lube the linkage under the car. Just get under the car and let someone else shift and you´ll hear right away where those sounds coming from.

Grab some multi-purpose grease and lube up that shifter, where the ball is under the boot. You just have to pry out the spring and pull up. Give it a good cleaning then slap some grease on. If the squeaking goes away, viola! That reminds me, I have to do the same later this week...
