hey everybody 94' 1.9 it squeaks really bad at idle on the accessory side of the motor...took serpentine off...still squeaks...took timing belt cover off took tensioner off waterpump and tensioners pulleys feel good...cam shaft bearing feels good...didn't turn the crank just yet wanted to see what the scort geniuses on here had to say! it only squeaks when it idles you give it gas and it stops until it idles again...it does sound like a bearing...what you guys think...do crank bearings go on these? motor has bout 100k on it thanks!

Sounds like it could be a cam bushing that is running low on oil pressure. Have you run an oil pressure check on it yet?

But the timing belt back on no cover start it. use a long screw driver place it carefully in spots and put your ear on the handle. you can hear engine noises very well and you will know if your getting closer cause it will get louder. I don't know about a squeak but I do it for grinding noises. Last time we did this we had a durango in and it was the front crank bearing had a slight grinding noise. Took a while to find

You need a oil pressure gauge. And somewhere to attach it. It might be easiest to go through where the engine gets the readings. And that would be located under the intake manifold. there is a round 1 wire sensor id just pull it and attach the gauge for testing. It should trip the oil pressure light on your dash but it will go away as soon as you are done and everything is hooked up. and I doubt it would . mine was completely unhooked and it never lit up found it when I have the head off. Now as for the oil pressure ratings for these motors I am unsure but typically you should see 60PSI on a cold star and maybe around 40PSI warm idle.

mine i think is just starting to make a similar squeeking sound but inly after it was getting wet almost like the serpintine belt was squeeling. now when letting off the the thottle and just before you step on the gas around idle the car just makes this odd squeel/squeak i guess i can call it that. same thing to 93 lx 5 sp. 120k just did the timing belt maybe 1k ago and timing belt tensioner

Try taking the serp belt off and running it that way. Not for long though unless you have a battery charger. You will know instantly if it was the serp belt or not. If it doesn't squeak then replace it and the tensioner as it may be worn and weak
