Last night I trailered the scort 150 miles to Firebird Raceway in Chandler Arizona. It was S.C.O night. Got there to find about 800 cars in the line to get in. Thankfully most were there to show or watch, but a good 150 raced.

I ran the Escort on 11.61psi. I still dont have my Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator installed or my fuel lines done. So just the 460cc injectors and a walboro pump. The vortech stopped working properly and the Kirban regulator I bought wouldnt work either, so it was running really rich on the low end and WAY lean under boost. Also added, my lower rear trans/engine mount is distroyed, and I only have 50 miles on my break-in period for my centerforce dual-friction clutch.

I ran a 15.2 @ 94mph. 60' was at 2.5sec and my 1/8 was in the 9 second range. R/T was .334 (reconfigured non-pro tree).

Anyhow I liquified the tires through first (butterflies in my stomach so I wasnt thinking), bogged in second then top of second through 4th pulled it hard.

I'm pretty confident the way it sits now I could run high 14's, but next trip to the track I'm removing the A/C system, getting the fuel system done, throwing on Falken Azenis's on the front (not real slicks, just something better then my burned 512's), and turning the boost up to 14psi.

On this VJ20, and stock spec'd BPD8 I'm hoping to pull consistant 14's with a dip into high 13's. Once I do that, time to build a motor, and shoot for consistant 13's with a dip into 12's just to get kicked off the track for insufficient safety gear.

You rock Blade, if one of us was a female, I'd love you...a lot. :p

15.2 is pretty good for having so many problems I think. I can't wait to see what you burn the 1320 in when you get all your fuel problems fixed up.

Thanks guys! Too bad the video of my run sucked @$$. Really bad filming...what can I say, I cant drive the car and run the camera in the stands, but I will be going back. Hopefully my friends can get a good video shot.

Actually this whole trip was prompted by me scheming.....I saw last months Sport Compact Car and it was about Sleepers.

Okay so the Hyundai Excel with the swapped DSM motor was awesome, I think my scort is a better sleeper then the supra with a bodykit or the AWD GSX Eclipse. I just figured I need a 13 sec slip to get my point across. But I'm hoping that if I prompt them with a slip, pics and a list of mods I could pick up a feature or something. I feel good about saying, "This is my ride, my life...and it was sponsored by my pocket and built with my hands, learning as I went all the way." Kinda stand better then calling it "The (BRAND X) Escort"...designed by engineers, built by a team.

I dont think the 15.2 is going to get me anywhere, except a readers ride spot, but I'm not going to be done for a LONG time. So more fun to come.

13's are possible man. braden at BLT ran a haltech stand alone on a gt motor with the gtx intake and turbo. he was not running as much fuel as you tho and he was at 14psi. he only had the stock gtx 390cc's. tune it down a bit with that regulator i bet your running rich huh?

good luck

I missed this thread before, Blade. Good job! Your target is in sight!

Hey, how is the dual friction clutch? Does it grab more harshly the higher you rev the motor at launch?

Do you race with your 17s on the front?

Hey, if you do get a chance for a feature in SCC, tell them about your Riddle buddy in NC with his all-handling, no-power, scort wagon  (I kid, I kid) If you tell them anything.. tell Dave Coleman to keep up the damn good work. This month he spent a few paragraphs talking about the importance of suspension travel  Fighting the rice, one word at a time, that boy is.
