Hello everyone I´m new and have a problem that I could use some help with. I own a ´95 4 door with 107,000 miles and about 50% of the time when I go above 65 MPH the speedometer starts going all over the place. Is there an actual cable on these or are they totally electrical? If there is a cable, how hard is it to fix/replace? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

it should be a cable operated system. you´d have to rip apart your dash to find it and it should go down to your transmission.

I know when i first bought my car i was seein what MPH each gear redlined at and when I hit 100 mph in 4th, the speedo needle just died and flopped straight down, when i slowed down it came back alive. that was a year ago, and it hasn´t done it since.

Well I have a 95 and a 91, experienced same prb with them both...you have 2 choices..either replace the cable, or take the cable out and re-grease it.."Note"..the re-greasing is only a temporary solution, you will need to replace the cable in the long run

It sucks but it´s doable. Just take the hex screws out of the dash around the instruments and yank this piece out. Then it is self explanatory after that just take it apart and you´ll see it.
