they dont work....i know i know my car has problems....it has 220k on her
but i love my scort...just want it to get in tip toe condition...any suggestions to DIY fix it?THanks again.....

well, on the speedo and tripmeter...first thing I would chck would be the speedo cable.

E-brake

first if the handle moves but does not engage your e-brake, check your adjustment

second, if the handle comes up but nothing happens I would pull the drum off one side in the rear and have a second person either pull the handle while you observe or observe while you pull the handle

Third, if the handle moves and there is movement at the rear, check your brake shoes for wear, glazing or other damage, also check your drums for damage and wear

fourh, if the handle operates and there is no movement of the hardware at the rear, check your cables

that about coers all I can think of at 6am without loking at a car or manual...hope this helps
