Hello,

I have a '94 escort SW with a 1.9l motor. I am in doubt about the order which the spark plugs cables shoulb be in the motor. The firing order suppose to be 1-3-4-2, but I do not know what it means.

Every plug in the coil pack is numbered 1-2-3-4 in counterclock wise. This means that I should connect the plug No. 1 in coil pack with piston number 1 in engine, plug No. 2 in coil with piston No. 4. plug No. 3 with piston No. 4 and plug No. 4 with piston 3 or I just have to connect them matching the coil numbers with the piston number.

Pistons numbers are 1-2-3-4 viewing the car from the front, I think.

Please Advise, Thanks.

The CoilPack has a connector... above this is Wire 1 & 2 (counter clock wise). Engine from the front... left most is 1, then 2, 3, 4. 1 goes to 1, 2 to 2, ect. Firing Order is Engine/Computer controlled.

This is why people should buy the darned Haynes or Chilton Manuals, it's got the picture of the firing order in it......

connect each spark plug with the corresponding number on the coilpack, if it's labeled for you. Or, take a picture before you take things apart, it helps you remember what wire went where...
