WENT TO TUNE UP MY 97 WAGON, 90K AUTO WHICH IS GETTING APROX
25 MPG ( I DO 69 MILE A NIGHT DELIVERING PAPERS) . THE CAR BEGAN A LITTLE KNOCKING ON HILLS LAST WEEK, SO PROMPTED ME TO DO TUNE UP.
BEGAN WITH CHECKING PLUGS. PRIOR OWNER HAD GAPS VERY NARROW ( IN HIND SIGHT I SHOULD HAVE MEASURED ) . SO ACCORDING TO UNDERHOOD STICKER SET MY GAPS TO .054 STARTED HER UP, TOOK FOR SHORT RIDE AND ON WAY BACK IT BEGAN CHUGGING AND WOULDNT IDLE RIGHT. SO WE TRIED TO RESET PLUGS NARROW .032 AND IT RUNS BUT A BIT ROUGH, LESS KNOCK THOUGH.
ANY CLUE AS TO WHY IT WONT RUN RIGHT WITH PROPER GAP
ALSO WHAT CAN I DO ONCE I FIGURE THIS OUT TO IMPROVE MY MPG'S EVEN THOUGH I KNOW STOP N GO STUFF IS NOT GOOD FOR MILAGE.
