So one day I'm looking around on ebay with no intent to buy just pricing things out and i saw this cpu for sale! $119 + 4.99 shipping ok not bad for a pentium D 965 extreme edition 3.73GHZ and 1066FSB for those who are not as computer literate its the fastest dual core processor out there retail is over 1100 bucks. So I bought this thing faster than you could say "what" he had 100% pos feedback with like over 400 reviews. waited and it came decent shipping and handling speed. opened it up, just to be let down. Its a pentium d 940 3.2GHZ 800FSB. this is me at this point------>   so i messaged this guy and said look you mailed me the wrong one. he said to verify it with cpuz and mail him the link so i did and he replies with oh either the program is bugged (which i have never seen before) or the mail man must have switched it out:p. what a f***tard he wants me to mail it back and he will match up the number and give me a refund. this guy sounds shady. what do you think. now my poor puter will never know speeds above 4GHZ lol

With flea-bay, Craigs list or any other blind sales operation, YOU JUST GOTTA TAKE YOUR CHANCES.

never EVER buy ANYTHING with detailed specs from ebay, the sellers dont know SH!T about what theyre selling. hes prolly thinking, "whys he mad? he got a cpu..." same with car parts man, (but we know with escort parts) ive seen the dumbes descriptions for car parts. like "fits all 1982-2006 of 2.5l 8cyl escorts" theyre just dumb "entrepreneurs" who buy a bunch of sh!t like car parts and sell them on ebay for a profit.

i worked at a computer store for a couple years fixing and building computers, and i found that you can find almost any part dirt cheap if it comes out of another computer, either that, or tigerdirect.ca not the absolute best, but worlds better then ebay, tigerdirect at least knows what theyre talking about when it comes to computers or electronics

I agree, using PayPal is the best insurance you can have.

eBays whole feedback system is flawed, and pretty much next to useless. As somebody else pointed out on here in another thread, they have no long term option to leave a second feedback, and most people are too scared to get negative feedback to leave any of their own.

And on the side, you only lost .5ghz. Just use the money you saved and get more memory. :p

Intels don't overclock for sh*t, you want an AMD for that noise.

As long as it's the phenom family. Which is also a hell of a lot cheaper.

I think my 3.8GHz E8400 might disagree, and that is staying at stock voltages and not pushing it to it's limit. It idles at 34C and runs at 35C-37C under load, except if Prime95 or OCCT is running where temps max out around 41C.

i did pay with pay pal and opened a case so now the waiting game lol... and this pentium has the multiplier unlocked so overclocking would be easy and in excess of 4.6GHZ my old intel was decent i hit 3.7GHZ for like 3 years then it was getting bad so i overclocked it til it smoked lol. i hit [email protected]*c lol it was fun i needed a new mobo after that as well cuz i fried the north-bridge and the cpu it was a T2400 which is a whole1.83ghz

    I have a AMD phenom 2 940 BE and i run 24.7 o/c 4200mhz

I have AMD Phenom 2 42 BE TWKR now this thing o/c I got it subzero at -22Cel and I run it a 5.4mhz
but this cpu is just for fun I use it for forum wars.
but now since its too fast I can't use it in forum wars anymore some overclock it at 7ghz +++ I don't have super subzero cooling but I still do very good.
