Those are great for Hot Rods who have carburators with manual chokes so the can ritchen the fuel mixture, but for an Escort I´m not too sure. The fuel injection not only tries to keep the mixture lean, and on top of that the cat tries to clean the exhaust of any hydrocarbons. So unless bump up your fuel pressure a whole lot, took off your cat and removed your oxygen sensor I don´t think you will be shooting any flames, let alone 20 foot flames.
