I sure hope someone can help me ! I have a 92 escort wagon and i'm having a problem with the car not having enough power from a stop , once i'm moving , it runs fine , i've changed all front and rear brake assemblies , the two callipers were sticking , changed all plug wires , plugs , coil , filters , pcv and the like . I've been told by my mechanic that it needs a new master cylinder because the rubber seal is giving out . My question .....would this cause a kind of back pressure in the line that would squeeze the pads against the roters enough to cause this . Thank you to all in advance . Perry

I'm pretty sure the "slow to go" thing you're mentioning is the 88hp at the crank, which equates to about 60 at the wheels. Even less if you run the A/C...

jack it up and check to see if the wheels hang after pressing brake. It sounds more like it's starting out in 2nd gear. Try manually shifting out of first; if it accels better, than it isn't getting into first. Of course I'm assuming to have an auto.
