1) how are you clocking it? starting the stopwatch and then dumping the clutch?
2) where are you doing this? out in a rock covered parking lot?
Have it professionally timed with nothing but what came with the car in the car. I used to try to clock myself out in the country and couldn't get anything better than 10 seconds flat. My launches sucked and were inconsistant at best. Plus I was trying to work the stopwatch and steer at the same time. :roll:
i don't know kilometers and shit, but my '92 escort gt with 120k miles is just as fast as a rather new integra gsr, so if your timing is anywhere close to acurate, something is terribly wrong with your vehicle.
car and driver drivers drive like your grandma. they do not "bang" gears, if you watch car and driver tv, they take their time between gears.
for example, last week at the local drag strip, my best friend's '95 ford taurus sho, which was bone stock down to the airfilter, with a SLIPPING CLUTCH ran a 14.6 @ 96 mph. What i find ironic is that car and driver couldn't best a 15.4 @ 92. The new dodge neon srt-4, car and driver time 14.1. Saw one at the dragstrip 2 weeks ago with the window sticker still in it, 13.7.
now that being said..
i am a fairly decent driver, and i had a fairly decent launch, racing again a 16 year old kid in what was probably his mom's gsr (i'm guessing it's his mom's since it didn't have exhaust or a big wing).. now the car seemed older than a 2000.. i also raced my friends neon rt and only lost by half a car at then end of a rough 1/4, so for some reason my car is faster than stock. my only mod is a k&n, and i removed the rubber from the clutch pedal for powerhshifting purposes.. my car will also make it to roughly 127 mph. This one i cannot explain. it was cold outside, on a flat road, with an SHO beside me to let me know how fast i was going (since my speedo stops at 120)
but a 0-60 in 12 seconds? either 1. you drive worse than my 12 year old sister, or 2. something is seriously mechanically wrong with your car and you need to get it to a mechanic.

GSRs are pretty consistent in the mid 15s. I think you need to take your car to the track cause I'd like to know what it can do. Either that kid didn't know how to drive or you got a turbo or some Nitrous stuffed in there and you're keeping it from us. :lol: :wink:
But back to nuke's problem. I think that his non-professionally trained friend with the stopwatch is missing the launches anyway. Is his friend in the car while timing? that would slow the car down. Is the speedo wrong? that could be misleading. There's lots of factors like tire pressure, tire temperature, speed, engine temperature, etc that will effect the 0-60 times of a car. Your EGT may have been having an off day... Like I said, nuke, I think you need to take it to a track where you can race off a Christmas tree and have it professionally timed.
Edit: that 13.7 second SRT-4 wasn't bone stock then. The best I've seen with the most punishing launches and banging all the gears was 14.2...dead even with the WRX, impressive for a FWD turbo. but nowhere near a 13.7.
so the 240 is an 8.3 - 16.1
the gsr is rougly 7.0 - 15.5
saying the 240 did alright, and the gsr either had a) something wrong or b) the guy couldn't shift, my stock egt, powershifted to hell with a k&n runs roughly a 8.0 0-60 and probably a 15.9 or so, from the numbers you're throwing out.. are these really that untouchable? or is my car a freak? will any other escorts do 127?
