hey guys check out my site that i recently updated, give me some feed back. www.slightlyaltered.com
Thats a cool site man. I like your car.....four door hatchbacks are kinda rare in this area, but I think they're way cool. Is that the factory paint job? I know the yellow isn't, but do you know the name of your red? Also, do you have any plans for suspension mods?
First, thanks, for the compliment. And yes that is the fastory paint, its called electric curent red. As for the suspension, i do plan on upgrading to large slotted and cross drilled rotors front and back, 19mm rear sway bar, not sure if i want to go air or just get coilovers or anything like that, im looking into front and reat strut bars, and the list goes on and on. so yes i do have plans. keep up the feedback
Looking good, as always, Chad.
Are you looking into BIG front brakes? If so, what have you found?
I don't have a link on me, but i found a site that carried big brake kits for the front of the escort, theya re like $1300 or so, they also make custom kits to your desire, aka 2-6 piston, 9-15" rotors, and so on
Budget big brakes is a project I'll be working on soon... Hoping to make it cheaper than most of the kits out there.
The Stillen tuned Scort GT made back in the early 90's had RX-7 brakes up front.. anyone have any extra information on that?
Those $1300 ones are the same ones I'm thinking of.. but can't justify their expense.
I'd like to get away from the single piston caliper and well away from the tiny early-LX brakes I've got now. They cool between curves fairly well with my 16s on, but are difficult to modulate and get a little heat soaked before bringing the car to a complete stop from 70. I wouldn't mind spending $600-$700 on a good brake kit that would fit under 15s.
I'll keep you informed. I'm basically done with the cat-back system. Just putting some paint on and making it pretty. Then I'm either thinking of starting on strut bars or brake stuff.
