well i am going to be looking into making a skid plate to replace my exsisting plastic sheild under my car, under the engine bay. my oil pan already has some damage due to lack of ground clearance, so i think its a good idea to make one. but first i want to know if any one has already made one for them selves, if so how. but if not is there some one else interested in one if i make more than one. that is if it works out well.

it's easy. Just get some 20ga steel, cut it out on a bandsaw, bend it to shape, and then drill/tap threads into your crossmembers. It's a fantastic way to protect your radiator, oil pan, etc from road salt, cones, small children, etc.
