is it possible to remove the side moldings on the doors of a 91 EGT without there being any holes?? i looked at it and seems just to be held on by a sticky glue?? can you just peel them off carefully???thanx!!!

yeh....my gt didnt come with those moudlings...nor did it come with the red reflectors on my hatch...possibly different styling options....?

yes, and i believe that different years had different stylings too, but not completely sure

Sweet my moldings are coming off now. how´d you get the glue stuff off afterwards, and can you take off the moldings behind the door too? :-?

well, i just used a heat gun, am finger, a razer blade, and some glue gone

Yeah my moldings came off with a little work... I´m going to put them back on though. I personally think it doesn´t look right to have the wheel well "skirts" on and no molding... the molding completes the look.

And I´m not afraid to go against the trends.

The stuff under the molding... it often takes off some of the base paint, so I used some bondo and re-painted the surface and it looks pretty good.

However, the wheel well "skirts" are held on by those annoying "screw in a piece of plastic" things that ford came up with that are impossible to work with. you could take those off and bondo the holes up quite eaisly though.

so the ones on my door have no bolts?? its just glue stuff??? the reason im doing this is because im getting the onderground sides and i cant have the molding on the doors and not the factory side skirts cuz that would look funny, and when you remove the sideskirts of are there any bolts on the body that leave holes?????????i dont want to hafta fill in holes!!!

the trim molding is attached with double sided trim tape.

The skirts are attached underneath the car for the most part. Even if you do have to fill in holes, it´s no big deal.

The moldings are the ugly pieces of plastic glued in the middle of the doors? someone said to me it was to evacuate water...but...i just don´t dig it...what´s the use of this except that it makes the car look bad...and i mean bad as wrong heh !?!?!?!

It makes the GT stand out amongst all the LX´s around. it doesn´t look bad to me, but I like the cleaner ´sleeper look´ myself. which is what I´m going for. ;-)
