:?: Well, I am now looking into shortening the throws on my shifts and I have found that I have a few options when it scomes to short shifters. I have found two by B&M, I am mainly wondering what, if any, is the difference between the B&M "Ripper" short Shifter and the "Pro Edge" Short Shifter? I appreciate anybody's help on this topic.

(edit) I also see a Pacesetter shifter on PTuning, is that one any good, or does it follow the example of their catback exhaust? (meaning, does it suck?) Thanks again!

shamelesssalespitch....

I can get you the pacesetter unit for... $106 shipped. If you order it... well today I can still get it in your GC coil over order and I'll give it to you for $86. I'm e-mailing them about the B&M since it isn't in my price list. I'll update this as soon as I find out.

I haven't heard any complaints about the shifter. its bassicaly metal and a bushing so its kinda hard to screw up :)

Update: changed prices... woops gave the 300ZX price the first time.

Well, I am still wondering if there is any difference in the two shifters made by B&M, besides a slight difference in price. And secondly, what is the throw reduction of the Pacesetter, I know that one is a djustable, so if anyone knows what the range of shortening is I would love to know. I know the B&M says it shortens by something like 42% or so.

As far as I know, they don't make a ripper for an escort. I have the pro edge and it's very nice. The quality is far superior to a pacesetter. Of course it costs 2.5x more so it better be nice. The biggest difference is that it replaces the whole bushing assembly and with the pacesetter you reuse everything except the ball. The throw on the B&M isn't adjustable, but it's nice and short, just a flick of the wrist to move it. Also the B&M and cnc'd from billet so it looks much nicer than a pacesetter is you care about that. Hope some of that helps ya.
