Hey guys. Found a problem when i got the 1993 Escort LX Hatchback. I drive a standard (I refuse to drive anything else) and I noticed that I have a LOT of side-to-side play in the stick when it's in gear. Everything's tight as can be, but I still have that play. Is there any way to fix this? Is it a common problem?

    Thanks everyone,
    Kris

Alright. So. I looked around on the site, and it ranged from bad bushings to a dropped linkage. I can't find bushings for the linkage anywhere. Anyone want to help guide me to the parts i need? Anything would be much appreciated

    I got mine from:
    http://www.greensalescompany.com/

But as a warning, I might've snatched the last two sets available several months ago. THey're a rare item.

Yet to install them. (have a growing maintenance list - longest since I've owned it)

Get the nyloil ones that are for sale on ClubProtege... they are win. Hopefully they're still for sale, because I eventually want some for the '96.

They tighten everything up nicely and the shifter has the click-click noise that I like.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the help. Highly appreciated. Thing is, and I'm not trying to complain, but, I'm a 17 year old, looking for a job, and I paid 800 for my LX. I'm already almost at 2k in just parts. xD. I love my car though. Anyway. I'll order these, and once again, thanks.

    Regards,
    Kris

I got this shifter bushing kit from Napa, and it was a pain in the ass to install.

That doesn't look like any shifter bushing on and 91+ Escort that I have ever seen.

A tad expensive, but they're what I'm looking for. Anyone else have these? I really need them but my father is against me putting any money into my car......

    Anyway. Thanks guys
