OK I have tried and tried to twist the knob off and I guess the only way to get it off is to cut it, has any one done this before cuz i dont want to mess anything up. I bought this nice black ractive knob and cant get it on!!!!!!!

yeah, he's right. it's counter clockwise.
but i think the boot is kind of integrated, or tucked-in into the knob itself. i've removed the knob before numerous times, from my mom's wagon (which is a '94) to the random scorts found in the boneyard. and they were all like that.
so, keep on trying.

I have an aftermarket boot, that install wasnt bad. So do the knobs have like treads like a nut and bolt do. In other words does the knob screw on and off, also shoud i use a vice grip or is it possible with hands I think i may have tried it with mt hands before. I try to get it of today, thanks fo rthe help

i have a 95 lx.. and my knob was easy to get off.. took a long time of going counter clockwise to get it off...just keep tryin.. theres a LOT of thread on those things... my ractive knob keeps fallin off.. the screws never stay tight enuff.. but i rigged it... and yad never know the difference.. 8) good luck!
